Teachers from Madrasah Al-Maarif Al-Islamiah have taken an interest to learn more on domestic violence to support their students who are experiencing such issues at home. 

The 2 hours workshop has taught them the different types of violence and its long-term impacts for children who grew up in an abusive family. They also actively participated in formulating a community intervention framework to stop domestic violence from continuing.

Responding to Asatizah’s interest, PERGAS has included the training of “Understanding Domestic Violence” as part of their elective module.

More than 100 registered Asatizahs attended the workshops on 2 separate days. The Asatizahs were equipped with skills on how they could provide advice if they were broached with the subject of domestic violence by their followers.
